My first contact with lutherie came through a hurdy-gurdy. Thus, with a wooden wine box, clouds of dust and a lot of enthusiasm, I got to work. When I finished “that instrument” (and thanks to a former guitar teacher), I met the luthier César Arias. Discovering that workshop left me fascinated…
By nature restless, I took a different path and decided to study Sociology, although lutherie kept coming back to my mind from time to time. In this way, after finishing that university journey, I made the leap into the field of lutherie and produced my first wood shavings with the help of master Ramón Casal at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vigo (EMAO). After completing the first year, I enrolled at the Basque School of Lutherie in Bilbao (BELE), where I learned for three years under Unai Igartua, Luís Artola, Jabier Guraya and Ander Arroitajauregui. The school opened the doors for me to attend training courses with professionals such as Silvio Levaggi, Michele Dobner, Philip Ihle, Sergio Chanquía and Robin Aitchison, among others.
During these years I met the luthier and friend Carlos Barrós and Blai Sintes (Bilbao), who supported and helped me, complementing the training received at the school.
I had the opportunity to undertake work and training stays with Asier de Benito (Valencia), José Catoira (A Coruña), Naiara Maiztegui (Barcelona), Pablo Sanz (Valladolid) and Fernando Sánchez Contra (Madrid). Thanks to an ERASMUS grant I travelled to Cyprus, where I had the privilege of training with the luthier Stepan Soultanian, with whom I consolidated discipline and working technique. Later, I carried out an ERASMUS training stay for entrepreneurs in Germany, where I learned from Mira and Gideon (Gruszow Baumblatt Luthiers).
I currently have my own workshop in A Coruña, where I offer bowed string musicians a service based on professionalism and closeness.

Galician cello project
Ensaia Grant
In 2023 I had the honour of being a recipient of the Ensaia grant. Thanks to it and the selfless work of friends and acquaintances, I was later able to create the first “Galician cello”, a project of acoustic research and promotion of initiatives linked to rural areas.
Finally, in 2024 I was able to carry out this research and the construction of the “Galician cello”.
It is an instrument made 100% with wood obtained directly from Galicia. The acoustic results obtained with the help of the Basque School of Lutherie in Bilbao (BELE) provided very revealing information and data in this regard.
